franklin_bashWith all the discussion posts and re-watch posts lately, I feel like I'm starting to recognise a few names around here and I'd love to get to know you guys more. I don't have anyone on my f-list who watches Franklin and Bash, and I feel like my days would be brighter if I logged in and saw a random post gushing about Breckin Meyer (or Kumail Nanjiani, or MP Gosselaar, or Garcelle va va voom Beauvais, or whoever is your favourite because really I enjoy them all) on my f-list. Other fandoms: Ohgosh....not many active...but I've done The Closer and Stargate: Atlantis most recently; before that was Gilmore Girls, Buffy/Angel, Firefly, Dr. Horrible, House, Handmaid's Tale, Discworld, Abhorsen trilogy...
How often do you post in your journal, and what do you usually post: Ummm... I post once or twice a week/month...normally it's IRL stuff (school stuff, God talk, whining about life, the woes and wonders of learning Chinese etc), but I get rambly about fandoms periodically.
Anything else you want to add? *waves* Hi! I'm kinda quirky and sometimes I get on lonely LJ. I think we should all be friends! :-D

Date: 2011-10-09 08:36 pm (UTC)Also, Handmaid's Tale! Have you read Atwood's Oryx & Crake and/or The Year of the Flood? They're similar to Handmaid's Tale, but I personally think even better (but ymmv, obviously).
What variety of Chinese are you learning? I speak Cantonese myself (born in HK, hometown pride \m/) and I can still read a bit of written if it's in traditional. Maybe I could help if you ever need it? :D?

Alas, I have read neither! But I really want to read more things by her! She has a very interesting take on life that I don't necessarily agree with, but it's fun to think about. :-)
I'm learning Mandarin. I don't think I'm legit enough to handle 9 tones, lol. I would love ANY sort of help in Chinese! (...if Cantonese and Mandarin are at all the same? We use Simplified characters...)
Also, whoo-hoo Hong Kong! :-D I studied abroad in Shanghai last fall and fell in love. :-)
